With the MS soccer season just beginning, players are excited to represent this year’s teams and hope for a season full of fun and improvement.

Westminster’s Middle School hopes to put together four strong teams this year. The boys green team will be coached by Coach Egan and the white team will be coached by Coach Cutbirth. The girls green team will be coached by Coach Stout and the white team will be coached by Coach Simon.

Patrick Egan, the head coach for the boys green team, said, “I can’t be more excited to coach this remarkable group of young men. Already a week in, I can tell we have a lot of talent on the team. A nice chemistry is forming between our guys, as well. Most importantly, I am honored to work along two experienced coaches in Coach Maullin and Coach Cutbirth.”

Señor Zeke Hoyos, the former green team coach, has fond memories of last season. He said, “We had a very successful season, and we only lost one game to St. Pius. However, regardless of winning or losing, you see the progress of the start and end of the team and how the players get closer together with constant growth.”

Seventh and eighth grade girls are also ready to put on the Westminster jersey for the green and white girls teams.

Kristina S., an eighth grade girl, said, “I am excited for the soccer season because I get to play with my friends and beat the boys soccer team again.”

Jack R., an eighth grade boy who played on the soccer team last year, said, “I am definitely excited to play for this year’s team, and I look forward to the new players coming to play with us.”

Rogelio Z., a seventh grade boy, said, “I am extremely happy that the soccer season is coming up, and it also helps relieve my stress.”

The boys and girls green teams kick off the season at Marist, and the boys and girls white teams play their first games at Sutton.
